Ltd. (Headquarters: 10F.-4, No. 335, Ruiguang Rd., Neihu Dist., Taipei City 11492, Taiwan; CEO: Ken Yu, hereinafter referred to as “imedtac”), to expand the use of the latest neurofeedback brain training in Taiwan.
Taiwan’s Aging Population and Its Response
NeU’s mission is to contribute and improve “Quality of Life” based on the knowledge of cognitive brain science and portable brain measurement technology. As the number of regions with aging populations increases worldwide, Taiwan is no exception. The proportion of the elderly population aged 65 and over will enter a super-aging society from 17.5% in 2022 to 20.0% in 2025. Moreover, it is estimated that this will further increase to 43.7% in 2070. ※1）
In a super-aging society, maintaining and improving human cognitive function is an extremely critical issue. Currently, there are no therapeutic drugs that can fundamentally improve dementia, rather, they are only aimed at slowing its progression. Under such circumstances, cognitive function training (brain training) is one of the most effective methods to maintain and improve cognitive function.
Solutions offered in Taiwan
In 2019, NeU developed an ultra-compact and lightweight (30 grams) brain activity sensor (XB-01) and implemented the “Active Brain CLUB” solution which was initially released in Japan. This solution performs cognitive function training (neurofeedback type) while visualizing brain activity in real-time, which has been proven through scientific verification that cognitive functions can be improved.
Furthermore, the “Active Brain CLUB” was developed so that it can be performed daily in any environment at any time. Notably, visualizing brain activity in real-time as part of a solution for cognitive function training is one of the most advanced methods in the world thus far.
In addition to Japan, the “Active Brain CLUB” solution has been demonstrated and sold at active senior and elderly care facilities in regions such as North America and Asia, where improvements have been shown even in just a short period of time.
For this launch, the solution was modified to Taiwanese specifications and localized through marketing activities with a focus on elderly care facilities and active seniors through imedtac. In addition to the above-mentioned, both parties also plan to introduce NeU’s latest “Stress Coping” solution based on brain science in the near future.
NeU will continue to provide technologies developed in Japan to the United States and other Asian regions, and will continue to develop solutions to improve “Quality of Life” worldwide.
