In order to improve the brain’s cognitive function, it is important to train the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex which relates to cognitive functions such as memory, learning and judgment.

Brain research have shown that this area’s function is activated when an individual is focused on studying or working, and is susceptible to brain function deterioration due to aging. The brain’s information processing speed, together with memory and concentration also decreases with age.

Brain training, such as through calculation and reading out loud, is quite effective in training the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex; however, it is important to train with the awareness of “speed” and “memory”. By continuing to train the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex using these two methods, the brain becomes more workable and can improve other cognitive functions such as concentration and attention.

By performing brain training while being aware of “speed” and “memory”, it is possible to restore the brain’s declining performance caused by aging.
