Too much TV and smartphone is not good!

On the Internet, you can find a lot of amusing videos, local and overseas drama series, online games and so forth. It is understandable that they are enjoyable to watch, but we must be careful about watching too much TV or spending too much time on our smartphones.
Watching TV and smartphones is the act of passively accepting something. The brain works very well at doing something by itself, but just accepting something from the outside puts a strain on the prefrontal cortex and renders it inoperative. Watching TV for a long time means spending a long time without using the brain.
It is important to note that elderly people, especially those who tend to watch TV for a long time, have a further decline in cognitive function and increase in the risk of Alzheimer-type dementia.
If you use your smartphone more than usual, reduce the frequency of use by not keeping it near you at night, setting the upper limit time of smartphone use or turning off SNS notifications and so forth is important.
If you watch a lot of TV, it is important to decide which programs to watch and then turning off the TV once the show is over.
